We have now completed the 'Local' stages of the National League Trust Cup 2018, a nationwide tournament for each club in receipt of a funding grant from the National League Trust, to hold a local tournament, to find a winning school to represent each club in the Regional Finals of the competition.

This year there is a boys cup, where Stalybridge Celtic FC will be represented by Stalyhill Junior School and a girls cup, which will see Arlies Primary, wearing the club colours, hoping for a place in the national Finals Day, which will be held at Wembley Stadium prior to the National League Play Off Final in May.

The cups are 6-a-side and are for U11's players.

Both Arlies Primary and Stalyhill Junior (pictured) will be playing in the Regional Finals next week, Girls Cup on Monday 19th and Boys Cup on Tuesday 20th March, with the two teams taking to the pitch in a full Stalybridge Celtic FC kit, playing against winning schools representing Stockport County FC, Macclesfield Town FC, AFC Fylde, Barrow FC, Tranmere Rovers FC, Altrincham FC, Chester FC, AFC Telford and Southport FC.

Good luck to both schools on the day!

Thanks go to Copley Academy, for allowing us the use of the astro-turf facilities to stage the fixtures, Vintage Celtic player, Eric Williams, Head Steward Andy Trudgeon, Callam McCallum, disability players, Sam Jackson and Gavin Dunham, along with our Physio, David Pover, for all the help in making the tournaments a great success for all the children playing.
