Vintage Celtic took part in the Poolfoot Farm over 60's Tournament in Fleetwood yesterday, six teams attended on the day, two from Blackpool, two from Fleetwood, Manchester Corinthians (they are the Manchester Walking Football League team) and Vintage Celtic.

Vintage Celtic came up against Manchester Corinthians in the first fixture, a tough game for sure. We defended well for most of the game and one stray pass gave them the lead which they held onto and came out winning 1- 0, but a valiant effort from Vintage Celtic.

The second game was against Blackpool Senior Seasiders. This was a competitive game and both teams had several chances but with goals from Lee and Stuart, Vintage Celtic held on to win 2-1.

Fleetwood Flyers Reds were the next team Vintage Celtic played. Again this was a competitive game with both sides going for the win. Vintage Celtic had the better of the chances but just couldn't convert them into goals, it ended in a 0-0 draw.

Blackpool Very Senior Seasiders were next on the fixture list. In constant rain both teams played some attractive walking football. Vintage Celtic hit everything except the back of the net. Both teams tried had to break the deadlock but to no avail. Again the game ended with a 0-0 draw.

The final game was again played in the rain. This time the Vintage Celtic team played some very attractive walking football and with two goals from Ian Parker and another two from Stuart Greaves the team ran out deserved winners at 4-0.

A massive thank you to Ian Parker, Lee Taylor, Mike Kieran, Keith Whitmore, Mike Taylor, Paul Murney and Stuart Greaves for turning out and playing some really attractive walking football and playing it in the right spirit, and in the torrential rain.

Congratulations on coming Second in the tournament gents, well done!
