Stalybridge Celtic Foundation have now completed the annual Girls U11's 6-a-side Cup, She Scores, which gives Primary Schools across Tameside, the opportunity to play in a competitive Cup competition on the Bower Fold pitch.
The tournament is usually held at the end of the season, when the first
team have finished, but in recent years, the competition has been in a Monthly
League format, this year however it was back to a Cup, with St. John's Primary
School (Dukinfield) winning the Trophy, which will be re-presented to the
girls, along with Medals and Certificates in a special School Assembly to be
held towards the end of May.
Next season the Foundation will be looking to revert back to a Monthly
League, held across four venues in Tameside, with a Finals Day' being held at
the last Evostick League fixture at Bower Fold, prior to kick off, with the
Final at half-time.
Stalybridge Celtic Foundation would like to thank the schools that
participated in the event and the Volunteers who helped the day go successfully,
but most importantly the players who played some fantastic football throughout
the day, well done!
