We had three adult PAN-disability teams in action last Saturday, taking part in the Cheshire Ability Counts Cup 2018. After finishing second and third in the Ability Counts East League, the players were confident going into the Cup competition, which see's teams from both the East and West Leagues come together to contest the Cup and the Plate.

On a red hot day down at the Cheshire FA HQ in Northwich, the teams played six games each, with the Blues making it out of the group stages and into the Semi-Finals, where they lost by the odd goal to eventual Plate winners, Stockport County FC.

A great day of football, played in the right spirit and manner, and more importantly with a smile!

Well done to all twenty four players who pulled on the Stalybridge Celtic FC kit and represented the club well, a big thank you to Hargreaves Travel for getting us all there safely, Sean and James from Ashton AFG for support and to Eric, one of Vintage Celtic players for help and support throughout the day....roll on next season!

We will have our three teams (Stalybridge Celtic Blues, Stalybridge Celtic Whites and Stalybridge Celtic AFG) back in training at the start of August, ready for the Cheshire East Ability Counts League starting in mid-October.
