Our three adult PAN-disability Teams were back in action last Friday night, for the first set of fixtures in the monthly Cheshire East Ability Counts League.

The day before they got back into the competitive swing of things, we held a team meeting at Bower Fold, for all thirty four players to come along and meet our Manager, Simon Howarth, who gave up his free time to spend an hour with the players, passing on some helpful advice and tips, cheers Gaffer!

So, to Match Day and a change of venue, replacing Aquinas College, the League is now based at Power League in Heaton Norris, Stockport. Power League is a purpose built football complex, aimed at small sided games, which was a whole new ball game for our players, who aren't used to playing with pitch surrounds.

After finishing second and third in the Championship last season, both the Blue and Whites, were quite confident ahead of kick off, but, both came back down to earth with a bang...

The Blues played three games, winning one and losing two, with the Whites playing three and losing three.

Our newly formed third team, Stalybridge Celtic AFG (Alternative Futures Group), did slightly better by playing three, winning two and losing one.

A lot to work on back at Training this Thursday at Ashton 6th Form College, thankfully there are no League fixtures in December, so we can try to improve results when the League resumes on Friday 25th January 2019, at 7pm.

Well done to all the players who pulled on the Stalybridge Celtic shirt, despite the results, everyone played with a smile on their face and enjoyed the experience.
