Celtic can confirm the signing of young right-back Sam Bird on a one months loan from Fleetwood Town.

Sam who is a regular in Fleetwood’s Under 18s can play at right-back or right-wing-back and has made numerous appearances for Fleetwood in the FA Youth Cup.

Sam joins Celtic offering help in the full back areas, Manager Simon Haworth explained: “Sam is a right-back/right-wing-back and as we’re sort of bare bones there at the moment with Kallum (Mantack) out and Jordan Helliwell back at Barnsley, Sam will come in to help us in that area.”

Celtic would like to thank Fleetwood Town for allowing Sam to join the club.
