Stalybridge Celtic FC 'Walking Football Festival'

The opportunity exists at the end of the Vanarama North season to use the pitch at Bower Fold to hold a Festival of Walking Football. 

Date: Monday 27th April 2015 

Timing: 1pm for a 1.30pm Start, 4.30pm finish 

Number of teams: Max. 16 

Format: 6 a-side round robin in groups, crossover knock out's or Trophy, Plate,  Vase and Saucer. 

Squad size: Maximum 9 

Cost: £2.00 per player 

Amalgamated teams:

Groups which cannot find 9 players to attend can enter a "part squad" and be amalgamated with individuals or other groups who are also short of players. 

Handicap system:

Any group which can prove it has been in existence for less than three months can claim three goals at any time during the tournament but must clearly indicate to the referee and the opposition captain that they have made this choice before kick-off.

Age:

Players of any age can take part but at all times the cumulative age of the players on the pitch [for any one team] must be 360.

Referees:

We will be inviting young people to referee and help organise the event. (If numbers allow and we can arrange training for them we will deploy two officials - as in hockey and basketball - per match). This will allow clearer identification of players running "off the ball" and make decisions more consistent.

Target participants:

This tournament is aimed at engaging recreational walking footballers who do try to win when they step over the whitewash but do so with a smile on their face. 

Sponsorships: 

There are opportunities to secure under the title sponsorship, naming rights for each of the four levels of trophy and advertising slots on the running order for the day which will be issued to all players.
