Stalybridge Celtic is delighted to announce Dean Brathwaite as its new Academy Head Coach.

Dean brings a range of coaching experience from his mix of academy, MCFC Development Centre, grassroots football and his own Bee Inspired Football Academy experience. Dean is probably best known locally for his 1-2-1 work with young professional footballers including the likes of James McAtee and Liam Delap.

After confirming Dean’s appointment, Academy Chairman Ian Milligan said: ''We received nearly 50 applications including from some very strong candidates.

“Dean really impressed with his coaching ideas and his reputation combined with having strong credentials with both elite footballers and grassroots players.

”He is well networked and highly respected within the North West football circles and we believe that can translate into Stalybridge Celtic’s Academy becoming an attractive destination for aspiring and well motivated young footballers, while completing a BTEC Sport qualification.’’

After accepting the role role, Dean said: ''I am really excited to get started as the new Stalybridge Celtic Academy Head Coach.

“The opportunity to work across the club and build a strong pathway between the Academy and First Team is something I am relishing. “

I look forward to bringing an exciting style of play for the players to enjoy and also to develop and challenge them over the season. It's an exciting time to be involved with Stalybridge Celtic.’’

Dean will be working with both existing and incoming Stalybridge Celtic Academy players this summer and will take up his position fully from September, at the start of the new academic year.

Places within the Academy for Year 11 leavers are still available and interested students should contact Tameside College directly or get in touch with Academy Chairman Ian Milligan at ian@thehuracanfoundation.org

Welcome to Celtic, Dean!
