Staff Profile - Jon Macken
As a manager, Jon has had two successful seasons at Witton Albion and steered Radcliffe to promotion during his three years there, with a stint at Colne in between, so he knows the non-league scene.
 
As a player, he has represented both England Under 20s in 1997 and Republic of Ireland in 2004, after starting his career with Manchester United. Although he never made the first team at United, he moved to Preston North End and made 189 appearances, scoring 63 goals between 1997 and 2002. He did make the first team at Manchester City, with 51 appearances, before going onto also play for Crystal Palace, Ipswich, Derby County, Barnsley and Walsall, before dropping into non-league 2012 to play for Northwich Vics, Stockport in 2013 and Bamber Bridge. in 2015. Though Celtic played all three teams while he was there, he never played aainst us.
