Match Preview :- Worksop Town - Saturday September 28th, 2013 (15:00:00)

On Saturday Celtic start this year's campaign in the FA Cup when Worksop Town are the visitors (kick off 3pm). Worksop are currently eleventh in the EvoStik Premier, having played ten games, winning five, and drawing two, leaving them on seventeen points. There will be a match centre for this game.

Worksop have won three games on the road this season, most recently beating Buxton 4-2, and on Saturday beat Nantwich 3-2. Their other win, their best away win of the season, was at the start of September when they beat Whitby Town 5-2. Remarkably, their Saturday results away from home have not been amazing, winning just once since March (against Nantwich last weekend). Midweek, they have only lost once in the same period.

Their top scorer so far in the league has been Jack Muldoon, with seven goals. Hot on his heels are Leon Mettam, who has six, four from the spot, and Tom Denton. Mettam has yet to score at home, getting all six goals on the road. Worksop have kept just one clean sheet in the league this season, at home to FC United of Manchester on the opening day of the season, but have scored in every game that they've played, and conceded an average of two goals per game while on the road. They have kept another clean sheet, in their previous FA Cup game replay, when they played Bootle. They needed two bites to beat Bootle, after the Merseyside team held them to a 2-2 draw in the first match, going back to Merseyside for the replay in order to progress.

The last time we met Worksop, was in September 2006, when Celtic won 3-0 with goals from Paul Sykes, Steve Brodie and Lee Ellington. The last time Worksop beat Celtic at Bower Fold was way back in September 2003, when they won 3-0. In the last twelve visits to Bower Fold by Saturday's opponents, Celtic have won eight and drawn two, giving us a good record against them.

Worksop have no suspension worries ahead of the game, and though they lost Kern Miller, who left the club recently. In their 3-2 win over Nantwich Town last Saturday, Worksop lined up as:
1. Ben Hallam
2. Jordan Lemon
3. Phil Roe
4. Josh Davies
5. Chris Salt
6. Laurence Gaughan
7. Jack Muldoon
8. Shane Clarke
9. Tom Denton
10. Leon Mettam
11. Conor Higginson

Celtic also have no suspension worries, but will be checking on the fitness of Lewis Hatch, who has missed the last few games. In Celtic's last match, the 0-0 home draw with Stockport County, Celtic lined up as:
1. Matty Urwin
2. Kelvin Bleau
3. Andy McWilliams
4. Callum Warburton
5. Joel Bembo-Leta
6. Kristian Platt
7. Tom Buckley
8. Greg Wilkinson
9. Obi Anorou
10. Sean McConville
11. Conal Platt

There is a lucrative four thousand pound prize pot up for grabs in this match, and the chance to progress to the next round. Worksop have been playing well recently, but hopefully, Celtic can continue their recent good play, and overcome our opponents from the league below.
