Match Preview :- Curzon Ashton - Tuesday December 13th, 2016 (19:45:00)

On Tuesday, Celtic face Curzon Ashton in the Manchester Premier Cup. Kick-off is 7:45pm, and there is reduced entry of £7 for adults, £5 for adults. There will be a match centre for this game.

This game has had a troubled history, but should finally go ahead. Curzon's exploits in the FA Cup and Biblical weather has meant a couple of postponements. Curzon have won two more games in the league than Celtic, and have two games in hand. They have won their last two games, away at Gloucester (2-0) and at home to FC Halifax (4-2) - both very good results, given the teams' relative positions. With six league goals, Niall Cummins is their top score, and they are scoring on average 1.7 goals per game whilst on the road, conceding 1.6. All four of their clean sheets have come on the road and they have failed to score twice. They score more while travelling (15 to 11), and concede less (14 to 23). This has meant that they have lost only twice on the road, and won only once at home.

We've met twice in competitions, last season in the league, when both games finished in draws.

Curzon's last match was a heart-breaking 4-3 home loss to Wimbledon in the FA Cup, after leading 3-0, and losing in the last few minutes. In that match, they lined up as:
1. Hakan Burton
2. Simon Woodford
3. Joe Guest
4. Iain Howard
5. Jonathan Hunt
6. Connor Hampson
7. Adam Morgan
8. Luke Clark
9. Niall Cummins
10. Alex Brown
11. James Baillie

Celtic's last match was also a loss in a cup competition, going out to Stocksbridge Park Steels in the FA Trophy. Celtic's injury list continues to be a problem, and we have lost the services of Dan Cockerline, who was injured training at Barrow after scoring twice against Boston in the 3-3 draw. He has now gone back to Barrow. Due to competition rules, player selection for the Manchester Premier Cup will mean no loan players, so he wouldn't have played anyway. In our last match, the 3-2 home loss to Stocksbridge, Celtic lined up as:
1. Grant Shenton
2. Matty Hughes
3. Daniel Hall
4. Keil O'Brien
5. Liam Dickinson
6. Aaron Chalmers
7. Darren McKnight
8. Gary Gee
9. Andy Owens
10. Danny Wilkins
11. Aidan Chippendale

Due to the rules and injuries, the players to choose from are:
Bagshaw, Chalmers, Chippendale, Gee, Hall, Hasler Clegg, Hughes, Mather, McKnight, Morning, Morton, O'Brien, Owens, Platt, Shenton, Summerskill, Wilkins, Da Silva, Oyibo, Halford and Phillips.
