Match Preview :- Bamber Bridge - Saturday September 15th, 2018 (15:00:00)

On Saturday, Celtic are at home to league newcomers, Bamber Bridge (kick off 3pm). Bamber Bridge have had an unbeaten start to the season, currently sitting in tenth, on ten points, four places and two points above Celtic. There will be a match centre and Twitter feed for this game.

Bamber Bridge finished last season in fourth, twenty-nine points off top spot. They have adapted quickly to the step up and are currently unbeaten, though with two wins and four draws, they are the lowest placed unbeaten team in the league. Both of their wins this season have been at home, beating Workington (3-2) and Witton (2-0), drawing 0-0 at home to the other W, Warrington Town. Their three away matches this season have seen them draw 1-1 on the opening day to Grantham, and, most recently, draw 1-1 away at Lancaster and 2-2 away at Buxton, in which they scored twice in the dying minutes to pull a point out of the bag.

Bamber Bridge's nine goals so far this season have come from six different players, with Matt Lawlor, Ryan White and Alistair Waddecar on two goals apiece. They have scored two away goals at a rate of a goal per game, whilst conceding their six goals (two away) at a rate of a goal per game. They've yet to keep a clean sheet on the road, but have done so twice at home, but neither have they failed to score away from home, though they have done so once at home.

It's been over seventeen years since the two teams last met, in the 2000/01 season in which Celtic beat them both home and away. In the 2-0 away win, Tony Sullivan and Dominic Crookes were the scorers, whilst in the home match, Steve Jones, Matty McNeil and Andy Scott got the goals. Bamber Bridge have twice got points at Bower Fold in the last thirty years, drawing 1-1 in 1998 and 2-2 in 2000. The only time Bamber Bridge have beaten Celtic in that time was a 2-1 win at Irongate in 1998.

1. Lloyd Rigby
2. Paul Dawson
3. Adam Dodd
4. Matt Lawlor
5. Kieran Charnock
6. Michael Potts
7. Alistair Waddecar
8. Danny Forbes

4. Steve Irwin
5. Danny Brady
6. Michael Clarke
7. Luke Wall
8. Glenn Rule

Celtic's injury doubts are Jake Turner, Greg Wilkinson and Tom Brown, but otherwise, Celtic have a full squad ahead of Tuesday night, when Celtic need to end the current run of four straight defeats.
