Celtic moved into third with a hard-fought for win against Sporting Khalsa who deserve to be higher than their current league ranking.

In an even fast paced game, R’avan Constable was the busier of the two keepers earlier on, forced into action to deny Benni Smales-Braithewaite, Ellis Horan and Andy Scarisbrick, the latter almost point blank. A flying save denied Mike Koral. Before Celtic got a let off from a swift counterattack, with Kieron Whittaker racing a full eighty yards only to see his shot rattle the crossbar. Charlie Monks got up in time to leap across the face of goal and push away Andre Landell’s follow up shot. Khalsa were not so fortunate when Constable scrambled away Jack Irlam’s shot only for it to fall to Smales-Braithwaite, and he doesn’t miss at that distance, giving Celtic a slender lead at the break.

The visitors also got a let off when Horan burst from midfield with the ball, rounded a defender, tangled Constable up in his own defence, and curled his shot past the two on the line, only to hit the post, in terms of chances, Horan’s formed the only major one in a second half with Khalsa seeing the lion’s share of possession, running themselves into the ground to find an equaliser, but the Celtic defence held firm no matter what the visitors could come up with and Celtic ran out 1-0 winners.
