For the second Tuesday in a row, Celtic went nap and scored six, this time keeping a clean sheet along with it.

Darlaston knew they’d been in a game with Celtic peppering their goal with shots from the off. Jack Irlam had two early chances denied by Aaron Flahaven, before Liam Tongue what the first of his brace, taking advantage of a Flahaven error gifting him a dropped cross to smash home. Three more efforts from the Celtic captain, all kept out by Flahaven, before Tongue got on Mike Koral’s inch-perfect cross only for Flahaven to make another save, but Tongue got to the rebound to nod in the second.

Looking for a hat-trick, Tongue tried his luck with a rocket, but Flahaven pulled off the save of the match, however from the corner, Jack Tinning put his head on the corner to nod in a third. Andy Scarisbrick was the next to be denied, with his turned in shot, before another excellent save pushed away Benni Smales-Braithwaite’s free kick, and Jack Irlam couldn’t get the loose ball on target. A stunner of a shot from Jack Byrne to rival anything from Smales-Braithwaite required yet another stop before Smales-Braithwaite latched onto Irlam’s short pass to curl in a rifled shot from the edge of the box. Irlam again slid a rebound off target, this time latching onto Ellis Horan’s effort which hit the crossbar. With ten minutes left, Smales-Braithwaite got his second with another goal for his collection in goal of the season, before Max Leonard made it six, curling in from a narrow angle in stoppage time.

This was a totally dominant performance from Celtic, and Flahaven saved two thirds of the shots coming his way, Celtic were simply rampant from start to finish and stormed into second in the table.
