Celtic have today announced that central defender Matt Regan has a signed a contract that will keep him at the club until April 2015.

Regan joined the Celts from Skrill Premier strugglers Tamworth earlier this month and has become the first player to commit to the club for the 2014-15 season.

Regan skippered the side in Saturday's 1-1 draw with promotion chasing Brackley and is expected to continue in that role when Celtic travel to meet Worcester City this weekend.

Celtic Chairman Rob Gorski is delighted with the news "I see this as a significant signing. Matt has serious pedigree with Liverpool and England u17s on his CV. Keith wants to build the team around Matt and other players of his pedigree and I'm thrilled that we've signed him. Briggsy deserves huge credit in the way he's identified Matt and persuaded him to sign. Keith has some great ideas and contacts that augur well for next season"
