Central Defender Luke Ashworth joins the ranks at Bower Fold, as Celtic secure player number 12.

The 27-year-old, who last played for FC United Of Manchester and also worked with Steve Burr at Chester, joins the club on a 1-year deal.

Manager Steve Burr said:
"Luke is another very important signing for us. I've been speaking to Luke this summer, and I'm pleased he has joined us. He's an experienced lad at this level and the level above and still at a relatively young age.
He has had a good few years at FC United, playing a lot of games for them in a successful period and I feel he can play a big part in bringing success to our club".

Ashworth gave his thoughts on signing for Celtic:
"I'm really pleased to be joining the club and I'm excited to work with the gaffer once again.
I'm also looking forward to helping the club back into the National League North".
