Celtic are delighted to announce the signing of left-back Ben Woods.

Ben joins the club having featured for West Didsbury & Chorlton last season, playing in both games vs Celtic in the Emirates FA Cup.

Prior to joining West, Ben was at 1874 Northwich and lists Ramsbottom United, Abbey Hey and Hyde as previous clubs.

The 23-year-old expressed his excitement at joining the club, he said: "I'm happy to have made the step up into the Northern Premier League, especially with a club like Stalybridge.

"I just want to get my head down now and be playing regular football to help the team progress.

"I wanna think the manager for taking a chance on me."

Manager Simon Haworth was pleased to add Ben to his new look squad, he added: "Ben is a good signing for us, left-back has been a real problem position for us over the last 2 seasons and Ben has come in and made a real good impression.

"With his pace and energy and enthusiasm to learn, the number 3 shirt is his to lose.

"I'm hoping he will have a real good season with us."
