Stalybridge Celtic is thrilled to confirm the signing of versatile defender Ciaran Summers from Hyde United.

The 27-year-old Scottish defender links up with Chris Willcock’s side for the 2022/23 season after spending last season at Ewen Fields.

Ciaran began his career at Rangers before leaving in 2013 to join Stenhousemuir. Three years at Queen’s Park followed before a move to DOVO in The Netherlands in 2020.

He returned to the UK in 2021 and signed with Stirling Albion in the Scottish League Two before a new career with New Balance brought Ciaran to Manchester.

Ciaran signed for Hyde in October 2021 where he played 20 games and scored one goal last season.

He featured in Celtic’s 2-2 draw against Hyde at Bower Fold in April.

After making the move across Tameside, Ciaran said: “I’m delighted to have joined the club. I'm excited for the season ahead and look forward to having a successful one.”

Welcome to Celtic, Ciaran!
