Stalybridge Celtic’s official matchday programme will be available digitally for the very first time for the 2022/23 season.

Taking the Bower Bulletin into the 21st century, the matchday programme will be jam-packed with a range of new features to accompany those we’ve grown to know and love down the years, and we will be looking for fans from both near and far to contribute and share memories and what they love about the club.

The digital matchday programme will be free to download and available ahead of every home game via both the website and social media, while QR codes will be available around the ground to scan and open up the Bulletin on match days.

Regrettably, the club has made the difficult decision to stop printing physical copies of the programme. While the club recognises that some supporters will be hugely disappointed by the move, particularly those who have collected them for many years, it has proven no longer financially viable to print the programme in its current format.

In recent times, the club has been operating at a considerable loss with regards to the designing and printing of matchday programmes and found that programmes were largely going to waste with lots sent to be recycled at the end of last season.

Speaking after the difficult decision, Celtic's Press Officer Taran Dhamrait said: “We’re sad to see the end of a physical copy of the Bower Bulletin, and firstly we’d like to put on record our thanks to both Vic and Liz. They’ve been on the terraces providing us with programmes for many years, and for many it won’t quite be the same on Saturday. Unfortunately, we had to make that decision, and the money saved will only help the club.

“There will be instructions with the QR codes around the ground to let people know how to access the programme and it’ll also be available on our website and via social media.

“What we as a team have been able to create for this season’s programme is something I am really excited about and I can’t wait for supporters to be able to read the first edition tomorrow night.

“Our very own Club Photographer Phill Smith has designed the new programme from scratch and brought our ideas to life. We have also welcomed Celtic fan Richard Greenwood to the team as our new Programme Editor. His content ideas and creativity will really see our programme grow this season and I hope you will enjoy viewing the beautifully designed programme that Phill has made and reading the engaging content created by Richard. Michael Beech has also been involved with the programme creation and I’m really thankful for everyone’s hard work.”

The new look programme will also integrate the likes of video highlights and image galleries, with the aim to be one of the most interactive and engaging matchday programmes in non-league.

We’re welcoming a new era under Chris here at Stalybridge Celtic and while we hope under his tenure there will be plenty to cheer about from the first to final whistle, we’re also sure that the new, bumper Bower Bulletin will get fans not only excited about the game, but also reminiscing on the terraces, enjoying matchday playlists and much, much more.
