We’re excited to confirm the arrival of Javid Swaby-Neavin who joins the Club from Warrington Rylands.

The 23-year-old defender featured for the Club in our opening pre-season win over New Mills and put in a top display, receiving warm applause from the traveling Celtic fans.

Javid has played for the likes of Radcliffe, Halifax Town, Hyde United and spent last season at NPL Premier Division play-off semi-finalists Warrington Rylands.

After signing for Celtic, Javid told us: “I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to play for this Club. The Gaffer’s ambitions line-up with my own and I want us to have a great year and push on because this club shouldn’t be at this level. I can’t wait to just hit the ground running!”

James Kinsey added: “Javid is an important addition. He offers more experience after having a good season with Rylands in the league above last season.

"He is defensively strong and has ability to get forward too. We saw on Tuesday what he brought from throw-ins too. He’s a great player and we’re really happy he has decided to come to us."

Starting his career at Oldham Athletic, Javid turned professional with The Latics in 2019 before departing and joining Radcliffe permanently, making 30 appearances in total.

A brief spell at Halifax Town saw him sign for Hyde United in 2022 and recorded 39 appearances at Ewen Fields before signing for Warrington Rylands under Michael Clegg last season. Javid had a successful season helping Rylands to the NPL Premier Division semi-finals where they lost out to eventual winners Marine.

Welcome to Celtic, Javid!
