Gary Ingham
Gary Ingham
Biography
Gary was born in October 1964, in Rotherham. Naturally, he started his career at Rotherham, where he was identified as being a great talent. He was quickly snapped up by Gainsborough Trinity, and nurtured for a couple of seasons, but was replaced when Trinity felt they needed a more experienced keeper, so Gary was sent to Shepshed Charterhouse, Goole Town, Bridlington Town and Maltby on loan to gain experience. Gainsborough brought him back for a couple of seasons but quickly Doncaster, a high flying side spotted his ability and signed him on for a couple of seasons. In the late 90's he came to Celtic for the first time whilst we were in the Conference, and performed wonders. However, he suffered a severe injury, and lost his first team place. Celtic sent him out on Loan to get match fitness to Stocksbridge Park Steels, and then sold him to Leek Town. We just could not let our opposition have such talent and took him back in 1999, where he helped us to the Championship in 2001, but after the departure of Phil Wilson, he too departed and joined Gainsborough Trinity on September 7th 2001. After playing for Frickley and Ossett Albion amongst others.
