Match Preview :- Solihull Moors - Saturday August 22nd, 2015 (15:00:00)

On Saturday, Celtic are back at home for our home match encounter against Solihull Moors. Solihull have had a solid start to the season and are currently unbeaten. There should be a match centre for this game.

Solihull are currently second in the table, as Nuneaton have had a 100% start, whilst Solihull drew 1-1 away at North Ferriby Otherwise, Solihull have beaten Boston 4-1 away, and both Fylde and Worcester City 3-0 at home. Anybody who thought that the loss of the league's top scorer last season, Omar Bogle, from Solihull would currently look wrong, with Stefan Moore having scored three in four, and Darryl Kniights now being four in four.

Moors have had a better start to this season than last, with last year's opening games seeing them win just once out of their opening six. That win was away at Bower Fold, so hopefully their reverse of fortune in their opening games will also mean a reverse of the score=line from last season too. After taking four points from their opening possible twenty-four, Solihull got their act together and went on a ten game unbeaten streak dropping points in only two games with draws at home to Stockport and away at Gloucester. Despite their first loss in two months coming at Guiseley, they continued on until Christmas with another two wins, making them look certs for the play-offs. However, 2015 started disastrously with back to back losses against Tamworth, and then just four wins in their last twenty-two matches, giving them a final finishing place of twelfth with fifty-five points: Just ten points and seven places above Celtic.

Celtic beat Solihull in our previous meeting at Solihull, grabbing a vital three points, at the start of January. And, as mentioned, they won on their last visit to Bower Fold. More historically, Solihull have won in their last three visits, with Celtic's last win over Moors back in March 2012, when we won 2-0, Stephen Brogan and Craig Hobson getting the goals. In eleven visits, they have won four, and lost five.

However, with two conceded and eleven scored this season, Celtic can be sure that this will be a hard game. In Solhull's last match, the 3-0 home win over Worcester City, Solihull lined up as:
1. Danny Lewis
2. Michael Nottingham
3. Connor Franklin
4. Liam Daly
5. Theo Streete
6. Gareth Dean
7. Stefan Moore
8. Jack Bryne
9. Akwasi Asante
10. Ryan Beswick
11. Darryl Knights

Celtic lost midweek away at Gainsborough Trinity, after Chris Simm's sending off altered the balance of play. In that match, Celtic lined up as:
1. Tony McMillan
2. Peter Wylie
3. Aidan Chippendale
4. Matty Hughes
5. Jack Higgins
6. John Shaw
7. Bohan Dixon
8. Dale Wright
9. Chris Simm
10. Alex Johnson
11. Aarron Chalmers

Before the season kicked off, Liam Watson did say his teams start slowly, and build momentum, that has seemed the case so far, with only one win in four. We are in no worse a position than the start of last season, which also saw two losses a draw and a win in the opening four, with a draw and a win following that to give two of each in the opening six.
