Match Report -
Barrow Friendly
By Chris Haslem

The first half saw few clear-cut chances with both teams mostly cancelling each other out. The best of the first half chances fell to Barrow, first a corner that was marginally headed over and a great full stretch save from Tony Mcmillan only for the effort to be chalked offside anyway./P>

The second half was much more lively.

Andy Owens opened the scoring, showing strength to hold off defenders and sliding the ball across the face past Andy Coughlin. Ten minutes later and it was two, the impressive Kurt Sherlock following up with Tuesday's sublime goal by adding another, this time racing the keeper for a loose ball, and then chipping the keeper and in under the bar.

Proceedings were spoiled slightly by Ross Hannah's too high, too late, too dangerous challenge that left the referee no choice but to issue a red - in a friendly!

It was a good workout, and will leave Liam Watson scratching his head for his team selection when the season kicks off properly next Saturday at Boston.
