Celtic’s first win in pre-season came against Stockport Town, playing their final friendly ahead of the season start.
Most of the chances fell to Celtic, apart from George Catara’s shot hitting the crossbar, the home side barely threatened. Both Elliot Rokka and Liam Tongue went close with cracking shots, but a goalkeeper howler gave Jordan Butterworth the easiest goal he’s score. The keeper’s clearance landed at Butterworth’s feet, who rolled it in from forty yards. Moments later and Rokka put Dylan Scott through one-on-one, and he didn’t disappoint. In the second half, Celtic’s changes didn’t change the game flow. Benni Smales Braithwaite went close, before Jack Irlam latched onto a corner to put in the fourth. It should be four-nil, with Rokka’s shot crossing the line by a good half metre, but three will do.
Celtic from: Connor Harte, Mike Koral, Sean Tse, Jack Byrne, Kyle Brownhill, Charlie Doyle, Jordan Butterworth, Liam Tongue, Elliot Rokka, Dylan Scott, Jack Irlam. Benni Smales-Braithwaite, Max Leonard and four trialists.
