It was a case of deja vu for Celtic, as they recorded their second victory at Gigg Lane within the space of a week.

Bouncing back from the disappointment of Saturday's result, this was a controlled full team performance and the away side fully deserved the three points.

It was Bury who made the early running but any chances they had were either not taken, or snuffed out by the resilience of the hardworking Celts.

Backed by a large and vociferous away support, Celtic gradually worked their way into the game and Brandon Newell opened the scoring from the edge of the box, after being fed a pass from Kyle Brownhill.

Minutes later and delight turned to dreamland just before half time, when Reuben Jerome was afforded the time and space to double the lead, after seeing his initial shot saved.

The game took a controversial turn early in the second half when Andy Scarisbrick was shown a straight red card for what was deemed to be an alleged high footed challenge, although it is worth noting that a number of the opposition agreed that this decision was somewhat rather harsh.

If anything though this seemed to galvanise the team and their fantastic following, as they saw the game out with ease and the performance was just as good, if not better, than it had been in the FA Cup replay.

In the context of the league challenge, this could be a big three points. Let's hope we keep the momentum going.
