Player Profile - Chris Camden (24th Aug 1991 - 1st Jun 1992)
Chris, otherwise known as the 'Buffalo' after whom the Buffalo Club is named, had one glorious season at Celtic, almost single handedly keeping Celtic in the Conference. Before Celtic, he came through the youth ranks at Poulton Victoria and on his release signed for Chester City where he made 9 appearances and scored twice in his one season there. Between 84 and 86 he was at Oswestry Town, before signing for Tranmere Rovers in 1986. He only made 3 appearances and scored in one of them, before in 1988 there were a flurry of clubs, Chorley, Rhyl, Ellesmere Port & Neston and South Liverpool before he joined Stafford Rovers. He was their top scorer in 1989/90 and signed to Macclesfield Town for a fee of £3000, but failed to fit in and was sent to Leek Town on loan (10 appearances and 2 goals) before joining Cheltenham Town for a £1000 fee. Celtic signed Chris from Cheltenham on his release where he scored nearly a goal a game during his season here, terrorising defences and earning a cult hero status and the league Golden Boot. After Celtic he joined Marine, where again he was a regular scorer in two spells there sandwiched around a season at Witton Albion. He joined West Kirby in 1995, before returning to his home town club Poulton Victoria as Player/Manager. And he did all that while holding down a full time job as a worker at the Ellesmere Port Vauxhall factory!
