Match Preview :- Nuneaton Town - Saturday September 3rd, 2016 (15:00:00)

On Saturday, Celtic play Nuneaton Town with a 3pm kick off. Nuneaton are currently our fellow strugglers, but unlike Celtic, they are looking for their first win, whilst Celtic have now lost six consecutive games.

Nuneaton finished last season in sixth, and even had a week in the top spot. They spent most of the season up or around the top five. Their top scorer was Aaron Williams with twelve league goals, with Rob Duffy right behind on eleven. They finished the season with only two losses in fifteen games; losing away at Boston 2-1 and away at Gainsborough 1-0, and started it with four straight wins. They had six draws and seven wins, including three wins in the last five. They only missed out on a play-off spot because of a three point deduction.

This season has been completely different so far. In their opening six games, they have drawn two and lost four. They have had a tough start, like Celtic, though, facing Kidderminster, Salford, Halifax and Harrogate: losing to them all. Their draws have come away at Bradford and at home to Telford. They've scored five goals and conceded eleven.

Last season they came to Bower Fold at the end of the season and tonked us 5-2 after holding Celtic to a 3-3 draw back in September. In the previous meeting in 2012, Celtic did the double over Nuneaton, winning 4-1 at Bower Fold and 2-1 away. In their last ten visits, there has been three wins for Nuneaton, four wins for Celtic and a draw – the draw being way back in 2000.

In Nuneaton's last match, the 1-1 home draw with Telford, Nuneaton lined up as:
1. Callum Burton
2. Connor Anderson
3. Jordan Keene
4. Kevin Langmead
5. James Clifton
6. Sam Warburton
7. Shaw McDonald
8. David Morgan
9. Billy Daniels
10. Aaron Williams
11. Joe Ironside

Celtic's squad is beginning to come back from injury, and in our last match, the 1-0 defeat away at Chorley, we lined up as:
1. Tony McMillan
2. Peter Wylie
3. Graham Kelly
4. Matty Hughes
5. Nick Ryan
6. Aaron Chalmers
7. Jimmy Ball
8. Danny Wisdom
9. Andy Owens
10. Steve Tames
11. Henoc Mukendi

Both Celtic and Nuneaton need a win on Saturday, and on current form Nuneaton are just edging it thanks to two draws in the last six, as opposed to six straight losses for Celtic.
