Match Preview :- FC Halifax Town - Saturday October 1st, 2016 (15:00:00)

On Saturday, Celtic continue our FA Cup trail with a visit over to Halifax Town (again). Halifax are currently eighth in the league, on twenty-one points, fifteen points and twelve places above Celtic. Kick off 3pm. There will be a match centre for this game.

Since the last time we met in the league, they have been beaten away by Gainsborough (3-2) and beaten Bradford 4-0 at home. Their top scorer is Tom Denton with eight goals. They score an average of 2.3 goals per game at home and concede 0.5 goals per game at home. They have kept four clean sheets – all at home, and failed to score in only one game at home this season (a 0-1 defeat by Harrogate).

Our last visit was a couple of weeks ago, when Halifax won 1-0, thanks to a Liam King penalty. We have beaten them away, 3-2, although it was at Spotland, back in 1996. We've never beaten them at the Shay. Halifax breezed past Ashton Athletic in the previous round, beating them 5-0 at the first time of asking. Their last match was also a comprehensive victory, beating Bradford Park Avenue 4-0 at the Shay.

In that match, Halifax lined up as:
1. Steven Drench
2. Kevin Roberts
3. Danny Hone
4. Scott Garner
5. Michael Wilde
6. Josh MacDonald
7. Liam King
8. David Lynch
9. Alex Simmonds
10. Tom Denton
11. Jordan Sinnott

Celtic's last match was the 4-1 away defeat at Darlington. The injury list is fairly drastic for Celtic, and there will be extra selection headaches for Halford and Phillips: Danny Wilkins is cup-tied and Sam Madeley is suspended, with the league's new rule of suspensions for red cards kicking in after seven days . In the Darlington match, Celtic lined up as:
1. Tony McMillan
2. Graham Kelly
3. Adam Mather
4. Jay Gorton
5. Matty Hughes
6. Nick Ryan
7. Shea Gordon
8. Aaron Chalmers
9. Andy Owens
10. Sam Madeley
11. Kristian Platt
