Celtic Home Win Over Fylde
By SR

Celtic turned the table upside down after a second half performance the likes of which haven't been seen since the 7-1 demolition of Hyde two years ago.

The game saw two other milestones, with Danny Rowe equalling Damien Reeves's scoring record, and Fylde scoring their one hundredth goal; but Celtic fans will be happy with the larger prize of three points.

The first half was quite even, the visitors probably slightly shading the chances, with Bohan Dixon, Danny Rowe and Ben Bradley losing out three times to Grant Shenton when through on the keeper. Celtic's best chance came from a corner: Danny Wisdom nipped in ahead of his marker and headed home the opener.

Before the cheers had even died down, Danny Rowe broke the offside trap, controlled a low cross with one touch, and slotted home past Grant Shenton to equalise the game and the league scoring record.

The second half saw a Celtic transformation, taking control of the game and creating a host of chances. The tireless front partnership of Andy Bishop and Jamie Roberts kept the Fylde defence occupied, both going close to breaking the deadlock; Roberts snapping off a shot wide, Bishop not turning the ball in far enough to score.

Fylde were trying to hold a high line, and Danny Pilkington took advantage, just about on-side as the ball came through, and racing towards Rhys Taylor's goal, slotting past him to give Celtic the lead.

Further chances came Celtic's way, but Celtic couldn't quite get the goal to make the end of the game comfortable, despite Pilkington twice going close inluding a diving header and Jamie Roberts still having the stamina to work another chance late on. Substitute Porya Ahmadi had a looping effort just over the bar and Adam Mather couldn't convert a spilled shot from Pilkington. This allowed former Celt, Bohan Dixon, to have Fylde's only shot of the half, from distance and well over the bar and stand.

This was a fantastic win that reignites hope of Celtic surviving in the Conference North.
