Celtic's streak ends against Nantwich
By Deborah Taylor

Goals either side of the interval saw Nantwich register their first away win of the campaign.

Celtic started the stronger, pressing Nantwich across the park. However, the only real chances came from set-pieces. Dahrius Waldron saw a header scrambled into a save by Louis Gray from a free kick, whilst Moses Yoak’s up-and-over free kick flew narrowly wide.

Celtic took the lead, with five minutes left in the first half. Harry Benns lifted the ball over a packed defence, Raul Correia made himself the target, sucking the visiting defence in and giving Theo Bailey-Jones the space to wrap his foot around the shot opening the scoring.

The lead lasted five minutes. Seconds before the interval, AJ Leitch-Smith chased a long ball, his first touch wrong-footing Louis Danquah his second fired across the face of Greg Hall into the far post with Nantwich’s first real chance of the match, though Leitch-Smith had scuffed a soft shot back to Hall moments before.

A soft free kick by Yoak on Cooke on the edge of the box at the start of the second half gave the Dabbers the chance to take the lead. In the same place as Yoak’s earlier effort, Sean Cooke’s curling free kick struck the inside of the post, flying across the goal and in at the far side off the other post. Despite being behind, Stalybridge struggled to break down Nantwich, only once coming close through Bailey-Jones heading onto the crossbar, but it should have been three for the visitors when Cooke went one-on-one, Hall making a good stop to keep the score-line respectable.
