Chris came through the youth system at Oldham and looked to be a promising striker for the Latics, breaking into the first team, and making 44 appearances, including six starts. He scored the winner in the FA Cup against Kettering in 2006 and in Latics draw away Wolves in the Cup to set up a replay, but in February 2007 suffered a broken leg that caused him to re-evaluate his career and he decided to retire from the professional game, and become a semi-pro to allow him to devote some time to his acting career (he has appeared in a stage version of the Full Monty). He left Celtic after the Play-Off final in 2008, and had spells with Bradford Park Avenue and Mossley, before leaving the game entirely in 2011. He has rejoined the game, and rejoined Celtic at the end of the 2012/13 season, but decided to join Harrogate Town for the 2013/14 season.
