Match Preview :- Tamworth - Saturday January 24th, 2015 (15:00:00)

On Saturday, Celtic travel to the Midlands to face Tamworth. Tamworth are currently third in the table after a meteoric rise up the table that has seem them have a 100% record over the past eleven games. They are nineteen points and fourteen places above Celtic. There will be a match centre for this game. There will also be a minutes silence for the former director Dave Baxter who passed last week.

In Tamworth's opening sixteen matches, Tamworth were nothing special, picking up just two wins in that period, though they had a lot of draws (nine). They have lost five games all season, with three of those losses coming at home at the hands of Fylde, Chorley and Stockport. The last eleven games are a league record this season, and during that period they have kept six clean sheets, scored twenty-three goals and conceded six. Tamworth's goal scoring is well and truly spread across the whole team. Their joint top scorers are Brendon Daniels and Kirk Jackson, who both have six, and there eighteen goal scorers in total, including former Celt, Phil Trainer.

Last season, Tamworth dropped out of the Conference with Hyde after a disastrous season, but they have now found their feet. We met them earlier in the season when their form was somewhat less than it is now and we beat them 3-1, with Charlie Ennis, Ben McKenna and James Cadman all netting for Celtic. Prior to this season, we have met Tamworth a few times over the past thirty years, and it's currently honours even. In our last two visits, we have drawn one, lost one and won one. Our last visit there in August 2008 saw us win 3-0, with Lee Ellington, Terry Barwick and Nathan Joynes all getting on the score sheet. Barwick's goal should have counted double, being a thirty-five yard lob over Will Puddy whilst on the run. Our loss was in March 2008, when Tamworth won 2-0, whilst our draw was in October 2007 (finishing goalless).

Tamworth are suspension free ahead of Saturday's trip, though Daniel Preston will be missing with a fractured skull, and in their last match, a 2-1 away win over Leamington, they lined up as:
1. James Belshaw
2. Javan Vidal
3. Sampson
4. Thomas James
5. Daniel Preston
6. Jon Adams
7. Paul Green
8. Shane Clarke
9. Connor Taylor
10. David Hibbert
11. Brendon Daniels

Celtic will still be without Matty Hughes, who is suspended, while George Lomax and Aidan Chippendale were still absentees through injury. Celtic's last match was a 2-2 home draw with North Ferriby, and in that match we lined up as:
1. Lewis King
2. Kelvin Bleau
3. Nathan Heath
4. Matt Regan
5. Liam Dickinson
6. Stefan Galinski
7. Ben McKenna
8. Scott Kerr
9. Dominic Calvert-Lewin
10. Stephen Brogan
11. Kevin Holsgrove

Celtic will be no walkover for Tamworth, despite the Lambs impressive winning streak. Celtic are on a bit of a streak of their own, with four out of our last five away games wins, including Solihull Moors. This will be a tricky test for the resurgent Celts though. The draw against Ferriby last week meant Celtic dropped a few places with those around us winning. A win on Saturday could see Celtic return back up to fourteenth whilst a loss could see us drop back down to just above the drop zone.
