Match Preview :- Bradford Park Avenue - Saturday March 14th, 2015 (15:00:00)

On Saturday, Celtic have a must win game away at Bradford Park Avenue. Bradford are currently sixteenth in the league on thirty-seven points five places and seven points ahead of Celtic, with two games in hand. There will be a match centre for this game.

Bradford were in a false position when they were in the bottom three having missed out on a large number of games due to bad weather, other team cup runs and the like. Once they started playing again, they started winning, and have pulled away from the drop zone. They have now lost only twice since the start of February, both away, and both to top of the table teams, Tamworth and Boston. At home, they've beaten Chorley, Stockport and Hednesford, so despite it being a must win game, it's going to be hard. Their last loss at home was a 3-2 reversal against Solihull Moors back in mid-November. Bradford started this season well, hovering around the play-offs with an unbeaten start to the season, however, when September started, they started a losing streak that (coupled with a lack of games) saw them fall to the bottom two.

Their top scorer this season, with twelve goals, is Chib Chilaka. He has scored three times as many goals as his main rivals for the Golden Boot with Richard Marshall, Ryan Qualter and Simon Ainge all on four. They score an average of 1.4 goals per game (1.6 at home) and concede 1.9 goals per game (1.7 at home). They have kept three clean sheets at home, and failed score only twice. They tend to score and concede more in the second half than the first. Apart from two five nil defeats (at home to Oxford and away at Boston), they tend to win or lose by only the odd goal.

We do have a good record against Bradford, and this is not the first time we've had a must win game at the Cemetery Road ground. The year of the Great Escape under Reedy in 2005 saw us win 1-0 with a wonder strike from Scott Bonsall. Our last two meetings, last season, were both draws, 1-1 at Bradford, and 2-2 at Bower Fold. Celtic's last win there was in 2012, when we won 3-1, with goals from Jack Laird, Greg Wilkinson and Callum Warburton. Bradford have only beaten us twice in the last twenty years, when they beat us 4-1 in 2004, the first year of the Conference North, and their only victory over us at their place was back in April 2003, when they won 2-1. We've won three times at the Horsfall Stadium in total, so we could be their bogey team.

Bradford's last match was a win, a 3-2 home win over Chorley. There is no Bradford team for that match available, but in their previous match, the 2-0 away defeat to Tamworth, Bradford lined up as:
1. John Danby
2. Alex Pursehouse
3. Chris Howarth
4. Luke Dean
5. Simon Ainge
6. Billy Priestley
7. Craig King
8. Sam Patterson
9. Chib Chilaka
10. Nathan Hotte
11. Joe Colbeck

Celtic still have the long term injury to Kelvin Bleau, with Stefan Galinksi and Aidan Chippendale both making the bench against North Ferriby in Celtic's last match. That match finished 2-0 to Ferriby and Celtic lined up as:
1. Lewis King
2. Sam Staunton-Turner
3. Nathan Heath
4. Matty Hughes
5. Harley Wigley
6. Michael Potts
7. Ben McKenna
8. Scott Kerr
9. Jamie Allen
10. Matt Regan
11. Tom Bentham

Celtic are now five points adrift of safety, and level on points with second bottom Colwyn Bay. additionally, we can no longer get ahead of Brackley by winning our games in hand, as we lost the first of them.
