Rico has come through the ranks at Manchester United's academy. The Portuguese winger was tipped to be a future star, and has played for the Portuguese under-16s squad. Whilst in the Manchester United under-16s, he has played in various tournament, and helped United to the Milk Cup in 2009, although mainly a substitute in that tournament. On turning nineteen, united had to make a decision to keep or release Rico, and they released him. Touted as a seriously good player, he has pace and vision. First team starts were hard to come by, so Rico decided to return to Portugal, where he signed with Boavista.
