Player Profile - Imre Varadi (1st Apr 1998 - 20th Apr 1998)
Imre made one substitute appearance for Celtic in our 3-2 home defeat to Hereford United in April 1998. After starting his career at Letchworth in 1977, he joined Sheffield United in 1978. A succession of top flight clubs followed: Everton, Newcastle United, Sheffield Wednesday, West Brom, Manchester City, Sheffield Wednesday again and Leeds. He spent time on loan at Luton and Oxford United during his spell at Leeds in the early ninties and joined Rotherham in 1993. In 1995 he had a succession of clubs: Mansfield Town, Boston United, Scunthorpe United and Matlock Town, where he became player manager. He broke his retirement for one game for Celtic. He is now a lisenced agent and radio sports commentator.
