Match Preview :- Shaw Lane - Saturday August 26th, 2017 (15:00:00)

On Saturday Celtic face newcomers to the league from the other direction, Shaw Lane. Shaw Lane won promotion last season almost at a canter, scoring over a hundred goals, and winning thirty-two of their forty-two games. There will be a match centre and Twitter feed for this game.

With seventeen clean sheets and failing to score only twice all season, away at Stocksbridge and away at Basford, Shaw Lane smashed their way through the Evo-Stick Northern Division One (south). They had, in Gavin Allot, the league's top scorer with twenty-six goals, though Alex Byrne's seventeen would grace any team. Five different players broke into double figures last season and they scored four or more in nine matches. In total they scored a hundred and four goals at a rate of 2.5 per game, whilst conceding thirty-six at a rate of 0.9 per game.

This season they have won their last two games, beating Buxton 2-0 away and Hednesford 3-1 at home. They lost their opening two games, losing 3-1 at Sutton Coldfield and 2-1 at home to Mickleover Sports. Gavin Allot has left the club, but has been replaced by Damian Reeves, who has already found the net once this season.

In their last match, the 2-0 away win over Buxton, Shaw Lane lined up as:
1. Jon Stewart
2. Ryan Serrant
3. Joel Bembo-Leta
4. Kieran Lugsden
5. Ruan Qualter
6. David Norris
7. Lenughan
8. Spencer Harris
9. Paul Clayton
10. Alex Byrne
11. Gavin Rothery

In Celtic's last match, the 2-0 home defeat to Marine, Celtic lined up as:
1. Joe Slinn
2. Adam Jones
3. Joe Garvin
4. Lassana Mendes
5. Luke Ashworth
6. Alex Honeyball
7. Matthew Wolfenden
8. Gary Gee
9. Aaron Burns
10. Jake Charles
11. Greg Wilkinson

Celtic really need to get their act back together before confidence starts to drop and we end up in a similar situation to last season!
