Match Preview :- Witton Albion - Tuesday August 11th, 2026 (19:45:00)

On Tuesday, Celtic get a chance to put the Runcorn defeat behind them as we travel to Witton Albion. Witton didn’t have a league game on Saturday, instead were away in the FA Cup to Chadderton. Kick-off is 7:45pm.

Last season, Witton had a poor start to their league campaign, winning three from their opening fifteen games. Though their first win was against Celtic at Bower Fold (we got our revenge in the reverse fixture). They finished strongly, moving from the bottom third of the table to finish eighth, five places and twenty-one points behind Celtic. Freddy Garbutt took their Golden Boot with sixteen league goals, two more than former Celt, Joe Duckworth. Overall, they scored 1.8 goals per game, with 1.6 at home, failing to score four times at home and twice away. They conceded an average of 1.6 goals per game both home and away, and kept four of their ten clean sheets at home. Albion’s home form was nine wins, five draws and seven losses.

Celtic won the last meeting between the two sides, back in April in Witton when we won 3-1 with a brace from Jack Irlam either side of a Ruben Jerome goal, a mirror of the result at Bower Fold, with Benni Smales-Braithwaite getting Celtic’s consolation. Our previous visit the season before saw us win 1-0, having won 3-0 at Bower Fold. In our last ten visits to Wincham, Celtic have won five, Witton two and there were three draws.

2. Jacob Hamman

4. Wade Rutherford
5. Joel Bembo-Leta
6. James Lawrie
7. James Hooper
8. Ben Holmes

5. Cam Fogerty
