Match Preview :- Solihull Moors - Tuesday September 2nd, 2008 (19:45:00)
Celtic will be looking to record their first home win of the season when Solihull Moors come to the Fold on Tuesday night (kick off 7:45pm). There will be a live match centre for this match that sees eighth placed Celtic take on seventeenth placed Solihull Moors, despite a gap of only four points.

Solihull have had a torrid start to the season, starting with an away defeat at Blyth Spartans, and at home to Gainsborough and Stafford, with draws away at Hinckley and at home to Alfreton, it looked like a win was hard to come by for the Moors. Until they visited Burscough, and beat them 2-1 with both away goals coming from set-pieces; something Solihull are dangerous from.

We have met Solihull Moors under both their new guise and their previous incarnation of Moor Green, a few times over the past 20 years. Last season was our best pair of results over the Midland's outfit when we beat them home and away 4-0. The season before was Solihull's best season against us, taking all six points, 3-2 at the Fold and 2-1 at home. It was honours even in the opening Conference North season, when both games ended in draws. In terms of wins, Celtic have just edged the previous meetings, with three wins, three draws and two defeats.

Solihull's top scorer this season is Jake Edwards, who has three of their six goals. Celtic's top scorer couldn't be closer, with five different players on two goals.

Solihull have been busy in the transfer market recently, signing Marcus Palmer from Gloucester, Kevin Spencer from Kettering in the past week, both of whom were in the squad facing Burscough. In that match, the 2-1 win away at Burscough, Solihull lined up as:
1. Daniel Crane
2. Simon Travis
3. Sam Shilton
4. Lee Collins
5. Theo Streete
6. Kevin Spencer
7. Michael Tuohy
8. Darren Middleton
9. Jake Edwards
10. Dale Anderson
11. Andrew Richie

Andrew Smart was available for selection in Saturday's 1-1 draw with King's Lynn, making it onto the pitch for a while, albeit in the left winger position. In that match, Celtic lined up as:
1. Paul Phillips
2. Ashley Woolliscroft
3. Rhys Meynell
4. Barrie Keeling
5. Terry Barwick
6. Paul Sykes
7. Steve Torpey
8. Keith Briggs
9. Lee Ellington
10. Nathan Joynes
11. Chris Williams

With Celtic not having won at home this season, and Solihull winning their last game, the automated prediction algorithm is going for a 1-1 draw. Celtic need to get a win at home under their belts, and on paper at least, this game should see Celtic get that win, though if they play like they did against King's Lynn the live match centre may run out of numbers…
