Still No Luck
By Debbie Taylor

Luckless Celtic went down to a solitary goal, and were a hairsbreadth away from an equaliser twice, but could not convert.

Ryan Rowe opened the scoring for the home side with the simplest of finishes when he was unmarked and latched onto a cross by Ebby Nelson-Addy, the goal summed up Celtic's defence so far this season.

Lacking in any luck, Paul Ennis and Anthony Malbon both missed the target before Ennis's fine lob cleared Billy Turley and cracked against the inside of the post and out to safety. The second half saw Celtic's lack of luck continue with Turley somehow reaching a cracking effort from Ennis, his fingertip pushing it onto the bar, and Malbon's follow up shot as he pounced on the loose ball cleared the bar from five yards out!

Chances were falling to Celtic, but the bar was set too low, as Malbon, Bleau, Mainwaring AND Chippendale all proceeded to clear it with their efforts. Liam Dickinson varied it a bit by turning Chippendale's cross the wrong side of the post, whilst Brackley waited until stoppage time before even attempting to increase their lead, with Mike Williams putting two lacklustre efforts into Lewis King's arms.
