Celtic battle to the win
By Debbie Taylor

A penalty save and a late goal moved Celtic into the top half of the table and extended our clean sheet run to three games.

Domaine Rouse almost gave Celtic a great start on his debut, linking up with Raul Correia to curl an early shot towards the top corner, with Felix Goddard making a decent stop. Celtic looked more attacking than in recent matches, but Bamber Bridge should have been ahead a quarter of an hour in when Kyle Harrison tripped Isaac Sinclair in the box. Greg Hall was the hero making an outstanding save.

Correia tried to turn in Theo Bailey-Jones low cross, but Goddard reacted quickly at close range, Harry Benns had a rising shot and curled the wrong side of the post, while Rouse nodded a corner into the side netting, leaving the scores level at the interval.

The second half continued in the same vein, with Celtic getting close, but no result. Bailey-Jones and Benns with early efforts, while Benns spotted Goddard off his line and tried his luck from forty yards, forcing a back-peddling Goddard to catch in the top corner.

The goal came with ten minutes to go, Rouse winning the ball out by the wing off Chris Churchman, leaving him free and clear. He pulled the ball back for Correia as the Bamber Bridge defence streamed back. Correia dodged three challenged and rifled his shot into the back of the net to record Celtic’s third win.
