Our successful Girls U11's 6-a-side Tournament, 'She Scores' has now finished for this season, with St. Paul's Primary (Stalybridge) winning the competition, which is now in it's second year.

We have been running the Tournament over the last three months in partnership with the Tameside School Sports Partnership and Tameside FA, with the help of Denton Girls FC.

Just short of 200 Year 5 & 6 Girls participated in this season's event, which was split between two venues, Curzon Ashton and Copley Academy.

The top three schools from both venues attended Copley Academy yesterday to take part in the Finals Day, aiming to follow in the footsteps of St. Christopher's RC Primary (Ashton), last years winners, and lift the 'She Scores' trophy.

After some fantastic games and even better goals, St. Paul's ran out worthy winners, having played 23 games in the tournament, winning 20 and drawing 3!

Next season we plan to work more closely with James from Denton Girls FC & Mel from Tameside School Sports Partnership, to make the competition bigger and better, and return the Final to the Bower Fold pitch after our final Vanarama North home fixture of the season.

Our thanks go to Rachael Aitken (Community Engagement Coordinator, Copley Academy), Copley Students Dominika, Kane and Aaron for Refereeing the group stages and Harry & George McCallum for refereeing duties in the Finals.
