After their success in St. Helen's on Saturday, our over 50's Walking Football Team 'Vintage Celtic' took part in the Frodsham Walking Football Festival at the Saltworks Playing Fields just off the M56 in Frodsham.

Taking to the field were Ian, Brian, Bill, Lee, Peter, Dave, Colin and Derek, proudly wearing the Blue shirts of Stalybridge Celtic FC.

The first game saw the lads draw 1-1 with Northgate Strollers (Chester), followed by another draw, 0-0 with Uppermill FC (Oldham), then a defeat by Everton FC A 1-0 and finishing the group stages with a victory over Everton B 1-0, 5 points were enough to see Vintage Celtic into the semi-finals.

Helsby FC (Wirral) were our opponents in the semi-final, which ended in a draw, with our Goalkeeper, Ian Parker, being the hero as we won 3-2 in the Penalty Shoot Out to book a place in the final.

We faced hot favourites for the Trophy, Frodsham Vets, in the Final, which again ended in a draw, and again thanks to Ian, saw Vintage Celtic win 4-3 on penalties to lift the Frodsham Walking Football Festival Trophy, making it two trophies in two days!

A fantastic achievement by the lads, who showed great team spirit, enthusiasm and played as a team throughout both competitions, thanks go to Bill Murney for Managing the team so well and all the lads who played for Vintage Celtic over the weeked.......up the bridge!
