For now, the
Road to Wembley's been disrupted,
Saturday
with the Scholars, a frustrating sight,
So we meet
again, at home, on Tuesday night,
Three days
to prepare, no time to be wasted.
The Scholars have the pedigree, proven cup-fighters.
Such as '05
when they played Oldham.
Port Vale
and Cardiff City, in '07,
As bona-fide
giant killers.
For us it's
a change to be back home.
Three weeks on the road, some of us homesick.
A nice run
in the cup would do the trick,
Plus the
publicity and the fame alone.
All the more
likely, if we win on Tuesday.
Positive
play, goals, and a 'Bridge triumphant,
A change
from past seasons of embarrassment.
Hopefully
closer to Wembley Way.
A tense
night awaits us, let's take it in our stride.
The
theatrical glow, 'Bridge fans in full cry,
A win, real
joy, no Town End in full sigh.
