Our Adult pan-disability League attended Aquinas College over in Stockport on Tuesday night, to take part in their first competitive fixtures in the Ability Counts Cheshire East League.

The League is run in partnership with the Cheshire FA and Stockport County Community Sports & Education Foundation, and has two divisions running each month. Our team are in the Championship division, below the higher standard of the Premier Division.

Starting their first game a bit nervous and shaky, they battled back from 3-0 down to nearly snatch a victory against Buxton Sportability, losing in the end 3-2, the second game saw them beat Stockport County Community Foundation 2-1, so went into the final game on high spirits against Stockport All Stars, who had won their first game 10-0, but sadly we could not hold on for a draw and lost 2-0 to two late goals.

Whilst the men were playing, two of our female players, participated in a Coaching Session and game delivered by the Cheshire FA.

All in all a great experience for the team, one which they can't wait to happen again. The league is run over nine months, with the next one due to take place on Tuesday 17th November, 6pm to 8pm.

Our weekly adult disability sessions take place every Tuesday, 6pm to 7pm, at Ashton 6th Form College, Darnton Road, Ashton-under-Lyne.
