Stalybridge Celtic Academy will be holding trials for any local & talented footballers this week as the club ventures into its second year with its proud partners.

Led by our UEFA trained coaches, the trial will take place for players born in the academic year of 2000/2001 between 6pm-7: 30pm on Friday May 19th at Stockport Sports Village.

Celtic have always been focussed around developing youth from the local community and will work together with its local partners to support the needs of all our players with the common goal of creating a pathway from the Academy to the 1st team.

Ian Milligan, Academy Chairman said: "The upcoming season will represent our second year of a five year partnership with our education partner, Tameside College along with our sponsor Smurfit Kappa, with whom we built strong links in the debut season.

"It's an exciting time to be involved in the set up as the new season will also see an expansion to three SCFC Academy teams. This includes entry into the Conference National North Alliance League.

"Our academy has an expert coaching line up, led by David Sullivan, which includes first team assistant coach Dany Jean - Yves and supported by first team manager Steve Burr.

"The specific goalkeeping programme our academy provides allows young players to learn and develop at a high level from our specialist coaches."

Jackie Moores, Principal of Tameside College said: "This is a fabulous opportunity for talented young footballers to develop their footballing skills whilst also ensuring they have a route into University after the course. The coaches and trainers at SCFC work collaboratively with teachers from the college to ensure all learners are able to achieve their potential both in terms of practical skills and theoretical knowledge, whilst training in a professional environment"
