An update to Andy’s funeral arrangements from Claire Cowley

I’ve had notification that only a MAXIMUM of 30 people will be allowed in Dukinfield Crematorium for the burial service or the service will not go ahead under any circumstances. Please DO NOT visit the crem at the same time.

Anyone wishing to pay their respects will be welcome at Bower Fold where IT IS OF THE UPMOST IMPORTANCE THAT EVERYONE REMAINS IN THEIR VEHICLES. PLEASE DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR VEHICLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. THIS NOTIFICATION IS FROM TAMESIDE COUNCIL AND IN LINE WITH GOVERNMENT COVID GUIDELINES.

The arrangements are as follows -

Andy’s funeral will take place on Monday 23rd November.

There will be a church service at Stalybridge Congregational Church at 10:45am held by Eddie Inglis, the cortège will then go to Celtic (please be there by approx 11.20am so as not to cause a traffic jam!) followed by a burial at 11:45am. People are welcome to follow the cortège from Celtic to Dukinfield Crem but must continue along Crescent Road and not turn into Old Road.

I can’t stress enough the importance of people not getting out of their cars at Celtic and not attending the crem at the same time.

At 8pm please light a candle and share your photos on Facebook and tag either Andy or I. This will be a way of us all being together when we have no voice not to stay apart. This was Andy’s sisters (Sarah Dew-Parry) idea and I think it’s lovely.

Please please please adhere to these guidelines for me and when the Covid situation is better believe me we will give him the send off he deserves 💔

Thank you all xx
