Celtic can confirm the signing of defender Ioan Evans from Tadcaster Albion.

The 23-year-old centre half was with Sheffield United in 2016 and had a loan move with Boston United in the National League North before joining Gainsborough Trinity.

In 2019 he joined Tadcaster Albion under then manager Curtis Woodhouse before joining Celtic ahead of the 21/22 season.

Ioan has also represented Wales up to Under 19 level.

Ioan says he was excited about the opportunity to join Celtic, he said: “I’ve always looked at Stalybridge as a well run and good club from my time at Sheffield United and Gainsborough Trinity.

“I’m looking forward to getting back playing football at last.

“The opportunity to join Celtic is exciting and it looks like a chance to progress both personally but also as a club.

“I am gutted to be leaving Tadcaster however I am very excited to get going at Celtic.”

Ioan can be found on Twitter @IEvans_55.
