We’re thrilled to announce the signing of vastly experienced forward Alex Kiwomya.

The 27-year-old forward signs for Celtic after playing 34 times for Stafford Rangers in the NPL Premier Division last season.

Alex has huge amounts of experience, having come through the academy at Premier League Chelsea and playing at football league level for the likes of Barnsley, Fleetwood Town and Crewe Alexandra.

He also experience at National League level with both Chorley and Kings Lynn Town.

Alex has represented England at youth level, having played 17 games for England’s Under 16’s, 17’s and 19’s sides.

Alex was excited to get going at his new club, he told us: “I’m really looking forward to getting started at Stalybridge! The Gaffer has been top draw in explaining the style of play that we are going to be playing and how he wants to get the fans excited and win games.

“I hope I can help the club meet these expectations this season.”

Manager James Kinsey was equally delighted, adding: “We’ve been on the lookout for another match winner - somebody who can carry us when we’re up against it and when things aren’t going for us. In Alex we’ve found that.

“He has great experience in the pro game and has even represented England. He’s of a great age and we know how much of a coup for us this is!

“He is lightening quick and will create a lot of opportunities in the final third. We will get him enjoying his football and with that, we we will be getting a top, top player at our club.”

Born in Sheffield, Alex began his youth career at Rotherham United before spending seven years at Chelsea, signing a contract with the Premier League side in 2015.

Loan moves in League One and Two followed including a year with Crewe Alexandra, where the forward scored seven goals in 34 games.

A permanent move to Doncaster followed which saw a loan spell at Chesterfield.

Since then, Alex has featured for King’s Lynn Town, Bruno’s Magpies in Gibraltar, Macclesfield and most recently Stafford Rangers where he remained for the 2022-23 season.

Welcome to Celtic, Alex!
