We’re delighted to have signed defender Scott Wara from Finn Harps.
The 23-year-old joins Celtic after spending the last two seasons with Leek Town where he was a key part of the Leek defence as they finished 3rd and 2nd in the Northern Premier League West, making 61 appearances for the club.
After signing for Celtic, Scott told us: “I can’t wait to be back enjoying playing football and I’m really pleased to have joined Stalybridge Celtic.â€
Manager James Kinsey added: “Scott played for Leek for the last two seasons who finished second in this division last year. He is a great presence and will bring more height to our squad.

“It’s no secret that we have been looking to add defensive options and Scott definitely covers that, where he can play both centre back or right back.â€
Originally born in Fiji, Scott moved to Staffordshire as a child and began his football career with Stoke City. He joined Leek on loan before signing permanently in 2021, spending a solid two years in the Northern Premier League.
Scott has made one appearance for Fiji in 2018, appearing in a game against the Solomon Islands.
Familiar to Celtic’s First Team Coach Nick Farrington, having been at Leek Town together, Scott now joins Celtic ahead of tomorrow’s FA Trophy fixture away at Trafford.
Scott can be welcomed on Twitter here.
Welcome to Celtic, Scott!
