Stalybridge Celtic is delighted to confirm the signing of defender Pawel Zuk from FC United of Manchester.

The 22-year-old right-back signs for Celtic ahead of tomorrow’s game with Nantwich Town.

After signing for Celtic, Pawel tells us: “The Gaffer and Tom Conroy played a big part in why I wanted to join Stalybridge Celtic. I can’t wait to push on and start playing and play in front of the fans.”

Manager James Kinsey added: “Pawel is an exceptional right-back that will bring lots of energy to the group. He’s technically very good and has played his football in the league above with his last two clubs.

“He has a lot of potential and was fantastic in training last night. His standards are high and we know he will bring real quality to our defensive unit.

“Our squad is in a fantastic position after this week’s additions, but will take time to bed in. We are looking forward to seeing them all settle into the group.”

Originally from Poland, Pawel moved to the UK as a child and started his football career in the academy at Oldham Athletic. He was snapped up by Everton in 2015 and spent four years with The Toffees before departing in 2019 to sign for Lechia Gdansk in Poland.

A return to England followed in 2022 where Pawel joined Barrow before loan spells with Glossop North End and Lancaster City last season. He made his EFL debut for Barrow in May 2023.

Having signed for FC United in the summer, Pawel has played eight games this season but now embarks on a new challenge with Celtic.

Welcome to Celtic, Pawel!
